Ogada, Agnes Owuor, DBA

Dr. Ogada is a Professor of Finance and Accounting at the Chandaria School of Business. Prior to her current role, she worked with various corporate entities, where she acquired a wealth of professional experience across finance, accounting, and strategic management. Her expertise includes the design, implementation, operation, and technical feasibility analysis of projects, as well as a strong command of accounting principles and financial analysis. She has demonstrated the ability to devise and implement strategic development and resource plans, particularly in service and staff development and in managing organizational change. Dr. Ogada brings solid project management skills, including the hiring and management of specialist consultants, and possesses excellent interpersonal abilities in collaboration, teamwork, creative problem-solving, conflict resolution, group planning, and decision-making. She has a strong understanding of IFRS and IPSAS standards, as well as FMCG policies and procedures, and is adept at working effectively within team-oriented environments. Her experience also includes interpreting and implementing new legislation, policies, and initiatives, as well as holding financial responsibility for budgets, end-of-year accounts, and external engagement with auditors. In addition, she has overseen and managed the finances of branch offices across the East African region and is highly competent in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite, internet-based applications, and accounting packages such as QuickBooks, Sage, Oracle Accounting, and SAP-based Enterprise Resource Planning systems.
